Timothy Lee Gordon, a loving husband and father, passed away the morning of January 6, 2025 at the age of 68.
He was born in Wortham, Texas and of the union of Eddie “Jake” Gordon & Willie Rene (George) Gordon on May 18, 1956.
He attended Elementary school at F. W. Wheeler Colored school and after Integration, was moved to and graduated from Wortham High school He was a star football player in high school and was granted a full scholarship to Texas Christian University (TCU).
With the guidance of his mother at a very young age, his spiritual life began at Beulah Baptist Church in Wortham.
After college, he became a salesman for the Sealed-Air Corporation which involved a lot of traveling in obtaining corporate product sales contracts for Sealed-Air across several states.
It was during these times that he joined and became a strong and dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Hamilton Park, under Rev. Foster in Richardson, Texas. He became a member of the well-known Male Chorus choir that traveled over the country with their performance.
It was there that he met and later married fellow church member Juanita Matthews to which one child was born, Jacob Gordon.
To be closer to his family, he gave up his job at Sealed-Air and became an administrator at First Baptist as Director of Facilities, a position he held until his untimely demise.
He was highly involved with Boy scouts and his son’s sporting events while growing up.
He was also an avid golfer who thoroughly really loved the game.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Frank & Charlotte (Adam) Gordon and Willie & Kayrene (Daniels) George; parents, Eddie “Jake” Gordon & Willie Rene (George) Gordon; brother, Henry Gordon; sister, Kay Rene (Gordon) Donalson and niece, Michelle Rena Gordon.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita (Matthews) Gordon; son, Jacob Gordon; brothers, Billy Hugh Gordon & Drexal Gordon; nephews, Michael Gordon, Cedric Gordon, Dwight Gordon, Aaron Donalson and Christopher Gordon; and nieces, Tanya Clay and Diedra (Gordon) Toney-Hodge.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 16, 2025 at First Baptist Church of Hamilton Park, 300 E. Phillips Street, Richardson, Texas 75081. Following the service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013 for a committal service.
The family will receive guests for a visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the church.
