IN LOVING MEMORY

Timothy Aaron Grimes

Mar 08 1979 - Aug 19 2023

Timothy Aaron Grimes passed away far too soon on August 19, 2023 in Plano, Texas at the age of 44. He was born to George Arthur and Linda Diane (Reams) Grimes on March 8, 1979 in Lubbock, Texas.

Timothy was a 1997 graduate of Allen High School and a member of Allen Heights Baptist Church in Allen, Texas. He enjoyed reading fantasy and Sci-Fi; playing online games; playing the piano; eighties rock music; trivia; and attempting to be more sarcastic than his brother, his father, and his uncles. Timothy loved his cat, Elaine who was decidedly a one-person cat.

Timothy is survived by his parents, George and Linda Grimes; brother Greg Grimes and wife, Janet of Allen, Texas; niece and nephew, Kaitlyn and William Grimes of Lubbock, Texas; uncle, Dwain Reams and wife, Gale of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; uncle, Allan Grimes and wife, Cindy of Mountain View, California; uncle, Bill Studebaker of Porter, Oklahoma; great aunt, Mattie Owens of Childress, Texas; and numerous cousins and friends near and far.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Clyde and Corene Reams; grandparents, Russell and Ruth Grimes; uncle and aunt, Darrell and Carlene Reams; and aunt, Jerry Ann Studebaker.

The uniqueness that was Tim Grimes cannot be adequately summed up in the meager space allocated for an obituary.  The complexity and layers of his personality took time to mine and those who undertook such an effort were rewarded with gemstones of startling brilliance and clarity.  His quietness and solitude were sometimes taken for shallowness but that was a serious misconception. To really know him was a life-changing experience!

There was a charisma about Tim that attracted deep relationships with people.  Many have commented since his death that he had outsized impacts on their lives.

Tim had a competitive nature that some (okay most) might characterize as stubborn.  He never felt that the four years between him and Greg should have made any difference.  He wanted to do any and everything that Greg did just as soon as Greg did it. (This led to some of his childhood injuries!)

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Allen Heights Baptist Church in Allen, Texas. The family will receive guests during a visitation from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. Interment will be held at Ridgeview Memorial Park following the service.
