Timothy “Tim” Alan Benners, age 46, of McKinney, Texas, passed away May 22, 2012.  Tim was born March 19, 1966, in Dallas, Texas, to Charles and May Dell (Samford) Benners.  He was the Director of Technology and Security Compliance for the Belo Corporation in Dallas, where he was an integral part of Belo's technology strategy for its multiple stations throughout the country.  Tim was an active member of Parkway Baptist Church in McKinney.

He is survived by his wife, Wendy Benners of McKinney, Texas; mother, May Dell Benners of Mesquite, Texas; brother, David Benners and wife, Beth of Richardson, Texas; and sister, Nancy Paschal and husband, Greg of Garland, Texas.  Tim was a terrific uncle to Chris, Robert, Heather, Katie, Grace, Joseph, Josh and Jonathan.   Tim was adored by his in-laws, Bryan and Bonnie Wood, sister-in-law, De Crawford and his beloved "Oliver."

Tim was an avid camper and enjoyed being outdoors.  He was fascinated by the weather and obtained his amateur radio license. Tim loved being around people, and deeply loved his wife.  He was a faithful, devoted and loving husband for 21 years and the best friend anyone could ask for.  The gaping hole his departure has left in the lives of those that knew and loved Tim can only be filled by the presence of Jesus Christ.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 26, 2012, at Parkway Baptist Church in McKinney, Texas with Dr. Jerry Halbrook and Pastor Kirk Taylor officiating.  Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.  The family will receive friends during a visitation from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Friday evening, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
