Thomas Amos Elliott of Allen, Texas passed away on October 2, 2020 at the age of 79. He was born on January 18, 1941 to Amos Robert Elliott and Clelia Fay (Thomas) Elliott in Dallas, Texas. Thomas married Hilma Elaine Cooper on December 8, 1958 in Tyler, Texas. He was an electrical engineer for Texas Instruments/ MCI Worldcom. Thomas was a member of the McDermott Road Church of Christ in Plano, Texas. He loved his home and working around his house with his wife. Thomas enjoyed yard work and even won “Yard of the Month” on a few different occasions. He loved playing different games with his family, especially dominoes, peanut and dice. But more than anything, Thomas found happiness when he was spending time with his family and his grandkids, especially. All of his children found him to be the best dad ever. Thomas was extremely caring and loving. He was never mean or unkind. Thomas was a man of principals. If he told his kids that they should not do something, he would not do it himself. He was very devoted to providing his best for his family and wife. Thomas followed through with everything he started and even graduated college in his 50s.
Thomas is survived by his daughters, Cecilia Hamilton of Allen, Texas and Wendy Gant of Rockwall, Texas; son, Darren Elliott and wife, Jennifer of Allen; brother, Dr. Robert Elliott of Lindale, Texas; grandchildren, Justin Gant of Valencia, California, Courtney McFarlin of Savannah, Texas, Spencer Hamilton of Allen and Jackson Elliott of Allen and; great-grandchildren, Johnny Gant and Riley Gant of Valencia, California and Cannon McFarlin and Cruz McFarlin of Savannah, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Clelia Elliott; brother-in-law, Ray Cooper; son-in-law, Johnny Hamilton and his wife, Elaine Elliott.

Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 to pay their respects and to sign the register book at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. Only a limited number of guests will be allowed to enter the funeral home facility at any one time to maintain social distancing
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, October 8, 2020, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas, and will also be live streamed on the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Facebook page and a recorded video will be available following the funeral service on Thomas’s obituary page.
However, when the maximum number of guests are reached, those who would like to honor Thomas and show their support to his family may remain at the funeral home in your vehicle, where you can watch the live streamed service on your personal device (laptop, tablet or smartphone) or listen through a designated FM radio channel.
Following the funeral service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service where all are invited to attend the committal service maintaining social distancing or you may remain in your vehicle. You will be able to listen to the service through speakers set up at the gravesite.
