Thomas “Tom” Andrew Lynge of Duncanville, Texas passed away on May 26, 2022 at the age of 57. He was born on January 15, 1965 to Oscar Edwin and Jane Frances (Dunn) Lynge in Dallas, Texas.
Tom grew up in Allen, Texas, and graduated from Allen High School in 1983, and went on to graduate from East Texas State University in 1987. There he met his loving wife of 34 years, Caressa. To say Tom loved music is an understatement. From marching in the Allen Eagle Escadrille, Night Hawks Drum and Bugle Corps, to being a Member in the East Texas State University Drum Line, his love for the marching arts started young. Tom made music his career through his work at McKay’s Music, Brook Mays Music, and Music and Arts, but he always managed to keep music as a hobby. He attended Drum Corps International Shows, remained up to date with the latest music, and instilled a love for music in his two children, who both have made careers within the music field. Tom constantly told his sons how proud he was of their success, seeming to live out his musical passion through the both of them.
Tom loved the outdoors. He was a walking encyclopedia when it came to plants and birds, and spent much of his free time gardening in his backyard, much like his Father. Tom was many things: a craftsman, a Scout Master, a Band Boosters Member, and a Manager. But most importantly to him, Tom was a Husband, a Dad, a Grandfather, a Brother, and an Uncle. He loved his family immensely and thoroughly enjoyed being a new Grandfather to his Grandson, Oliver. He was everybody’s best friend, and we are all going to miss his infectious smile and laugh.
He is survived by his wife, Caressa Lynge of Duncanville, Texas; children, Andrew Lynge and wife Stephanie of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Daniel Lynge of Bowling Green, Ohio; grandchild, Oliver Lynge; siblings, Eddie Lynge and wife, Janelle of Hudson Oaks, Anne Halderman of Richardson, Texas, and Tricia Musslewhite and husband, Clay of Frisco, Texas; nieces and nephews, Alex Lynge, Bobby Lynge, Kara Halderman, Emily Musslewhite, and Olivia Musslewhite; and numerous other loving family and friends.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents.
