IN LOVING MEMORY

Thomas Werner Majewski

Feb 26 1967 - Apr 03 2017

Thomas Werner Majewski passed away April 3, 2017 surrounded by his family and partner at the age of 50 after multiple courageous battles with cancer. He was born February 26, 1967 in Dobbs Ferry, New York, to Werner Willi Majewski and Gisela (Ruthmann) Majewski.

Thomas attended public schools and after graduating from Sachem High School, attended University at Albany with an initial interest in computer science. After moving to Texas, he attended University of North Texas and went on to pursue a degree in Literature at UT Dallas, and had 2 poems published as part of a collection in 1989. He was interested in becoming a counselor, and had plans to pursue a Masters degree to help others with disabilities and other cancer survivors, as he felt he had valuable strategies to pay forward. He worked at the both the Haggard and Davis Libraries in Plano for many years, and then as a kitchen manager at a large nursing facility in Dallas, where he was a favorite of both the residents and employees alike. He greatly valued his friendships and was loved and valued in return by many people over the course of his life. He was selfless and kind to everyone he met. He always looked out for others and also had a deep fondness for all animals, especially dogs, of which he rescued many throughout his life. He loved disc golf and music and attended as many concerts as he could over the years.

He is survived by his loving partner, Paula Schell and her two sons James and Jonathan, his mother and father Gisela and Werner Majewski, his sisters Gabriele Milheron and her spouse Patrick Milheron, Tina LoGelfo and her spouse Rich LoGelfo, and his brother Michael Majewski. He is also survived by his 5 nieces, Kristin Milheron and her partner Scott O’Flaherty, Jessie Spuckler and her spouse Alex Spuckler,  Lindsay Milheron, Julia LoGelfo, Larissa LoGelfo; 2 nephews Michael Milheron and Nick LoGelfo; and extended family in Bielefeld, Germany including aunts, uncles, and cousins.

His presence will be missed greatly by us all and we will never forget the myriad ways he impacted our lives.

The family will receive friends during a visitation from 4:00 - 6:00 pm, Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.

Those wishing to make donations in lieu of flowers are asked to contribute to the ASPCA, Dallas Lighthouse for the Blind or Davis Library in Plano Texas.

Endless

This poem which to you I send

My fallen, fickle, foolish friend

Is a monument to you in rhyme

A tool to help you pass the time

From whence I left your smiling face

Till I return to your sweet grace

This poem which to you I send

Like our friendship, never ends…
