Thomas “Tom” Veazey Miller, age 84, of Van Alstyne, Texas, passed away on November 27, 2016. He was born August 13, 1932 in Mantua, Texas to Lacy Levi and Onlee (Stone) Miller. On January 20, 1950, Tom married Virginia Nell Marsh in McKinney, Texas. He grew up in Anna, Texas where he graduated high school. Tom proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Upon his return from the military, Tom was employed at a local bank in McKinney. He then began a masonry company and later worked as an owner moving homes. Tom built one of the first “all electric” homes in McKinney. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Anna, where he was a deacon.
He is survived by his children, Tony Miller of Van Alstyne, Texas, Sharon Huber and husband Mike of Farmersville, Texas, Jackie Morris of Waxahachie, Texas, Beverly Ferrell and husband Randy of Trenton, Texas; grandchildren, Amber Amin, John Kelly Morris, Bryan Thompson, T.J. Thompson, Tyler Ferrell, Chance Miller, Chandler Miller, Cayson Miller and Cassie Johnson; sixteen, great-grandchildren; many other loving relatives and friends.
Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, Lacy Levi and Onlee Miller; wife, Virginia Nell Miller; and sister, Juanita Pell.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 2, 2016 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during a visitation being held at 6:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the funeral home.
