Tom Moore of Richardson, Texas passed away on September 8, 2022 at the age of 86. He was born on December 16, 1935 to Harris Sims and Ethleen (Haynie) Moore in Sheffield, Alabama. Tom met the love of his life, Beverly Ann Causey, at Forrest City High School at the age of 14.  They later married on May 8, 1954 and began an incredible adventure together that moved them to many places including Panama and Tanzania!  They eventually settled in Richardson, Texas where they raised their three children, and Tom built his illustrious television and film career.

As a young man, Tom served in the United States Air Force where he began his career as a disc jockey.  Working in radio later evolved into the new industry of television which eventually landed Tom in the film business.  Tom produced and directed hundreds of TV commercials, winning 4 CLIO awards for Best TV Commercial Director, 14 ADDY/Art Directors awards for Best Director, 2 American Cine-Golden Eagle Awards and 5 Best Commercial awards at the New York International Film Festival.  A member of the Directors Guild of America, Tom also wrote, produced and directed many films, documentaries and video series.

Outside of his career, Tom had a passion for foreign missions which sent him all over the world to 38 countries and 5 continents.  In 1993, he received an honorary Doctor of Laws degree by the International University in Vienna for his accomplishments as a creative businessman and his dedication to world missions.

Never one to shy away from adventure, Tom’s hobbies throughout the years included showing Tennessee walking horses, acting, writing, directing playhouse theatre, competitive road rallies, auto racing, bull fighting, SCUBA diving and sailing.  Tom never met a stranger, with his booming voice, hilarious sense of humor and friendly demeanor.  He was a favorite among his peers and friends and a true Southern gentleman. Above all, Tom adored Beverly and their family which included 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.  For his family, he has left a legacy of determination, perseverance, wisdom, benevolence and faith.
