IN LOVING MEMORY

Thomas Roger Stevens

Dec 30 1949 - Dec 29 2024

Thomas "Tom" Roger Stevens, of Princeton, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2024, just one day shy of his 75th birthday. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Tom's legacy is cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Tom is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Vicki Graham Stevens, and his loving children: Josh Stevens and wife Sarah, Chris Oneal and wife Elizabeth and Stacey Haggard and husband Brandon. He was a proud and adoring grandfather to Caroline, Hank, Grace, Graham, Miles, and Sadie, who all lovingly refer to him as "Papa Bear." He was preceded in death by his parents.

Tom devoted his life to making a difference in the world. Growing up in Minnesota, he was an Eagle Scout, embodying the values of integrity and service throughout his life. He further demonstrated his commitment to his country through his service in the Army National Guard. Tom graduated from Mankato State College in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science in Geography, and after obtaining a Master’s degree in Social Work from Louisiana State University, Tom spent his career dedicated to helping others.

An avid runner and biker, he found joy in the simplicity and beauty of the great outdoors. Through his participation in countless races, Tom turned his passion for running and biking into a powerful force for good, raising money for numerous charitable organizations, impacting lives and inspiring others with his dedication and enthusiasm.

Tom was the life of the party, bringing joy and laughter wherever he went. Two of his favorite sayings, "Enjoy Now" and "Life is Good," perfectly encapsulated his outlook on life. He lived each day with an unwavering appreciation for the present moment and a heart full of gratitude.

Tom's warmth, wisdom, and enduring love for his family and friends will be deeply missed. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, and his kindness and generosity will continue to inspire us all.

Rest in peace, Papa Bear. Your love and spirit will forever guide us.
