Thomas Henry Snow, 86 joined his Lord and Savior and went home to Heaven on January 3, 2023 after a extended illness. He was born on February 17, 1936 to Edwin and Dorothy Snow in Chicago Illinois.
He graduated Fenger High School where he also played football and then attended Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla Missouri.
In 1957 he moved to Dallas and accepted a job with Collins Radio Company and he retired from there after 38 years of service. It is where he met the love of his life Janice Lou Fowler and they were married on July 3, 1969 at First Methodist Church in Plano TX. They were blessed to celebrate a loving 53 years together, honoring the vows pledged to each other during the peaks and valleys of this life on earth.
After his retirement he continued to stay active while working at Spectrum Software and also at FedEx Kinkos. He believed in working hard and being productive in his daily life.
He was a dedicated Christian and for many years attended First Baptist Church in Allen, TX. He had a passion for helping others and enjoyed giving to many charities and donated frequently to local food pantries and any others in need. He always had a giving spirit and everyone in the family could count on souvenir gifts from dad when visiting that he had found at the local dollar stores, especially items that had Snow themes. He enjoyed having family gatherings and sharing stories with everyone. He enjoyed cooking all varieties of food and had a witty and fun sense of humor that always kept everyone entertained.
He was a wonderful provider for his family and when his children were growing up he took them to see many of God’s beautiful creations. There were many road trips he took the family on giving them treasured memories to have for a lifetime. We will always remember and think of dad when going to Estes Park Co, Royal Gorge Co, camping at Tyler State Park or back to Chicago.
He was a dedicated, loving father all of his life and he was always there for all his children.
He enjoyed watching his Chicago Bears and was proud to have his cap on during those games. He was a caretaker to all outdoor life, he had corn for the squirrels and lots of birdseed for the birds. Even in the days he didn’t feel good he still had enough energy to make sure the birds had seed.
Tom is survived by his devoted wife Janice Snow of Allen, Texas; his daughter Pamela Lynn Snow of Waxahachie, TX; son Joel Thomas Snow and spouse Terry Camoza of St Louis, MO, son Chris Snow and wife, Karen of Waxahachie, TX. His grandson Michael Thomas Snow and wife Brooke of Porterville, MS and great grandchildren Lincoln, Lucas and Aspen Snow and many other loving family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Shirley Horsley and Lois Kyger and by his son Jason Milam Snow.
A private celebration of his life will be held by family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, he would be pleased for you to honor his memory by providing seed for the birds or corn for the squirrels in your area or contribute to a favorite wildlife charity, The Salvation Army or local food pantry of your choice. Any memories or condolences may be shared in the online guestbook.
