Thomas Francis Burke of McKinney, Texas passed away on March 10, 2018 at the age of 87. He was born on January 8, 1931 to William and Mary Burke in Chicago, Illinois. Tom graduated from St. Leo High School in Chicago, Illinois. He was a proud member of St. Rita Catholic Church in Dallas, Texas. Tom was a God loving father and a devout Catholic. He was an honorable member of the Knights of Columbus in Downers Grove, Illinois. Tom was proud of his Irish heritage. He was an avid Notre Dame fan and golfer. Tom was a Chicago Bear and Dallas Cowboys fan and was an opinionated coach from his spot on the couch. He started a successful commercial glass and glazing business in Dallas that he operated for many years.
Tom is survived by his children, Bill Burke and wife, Michele of McKinney, Texas, Thomas Burke of Richmond, Virginia, Elizabeth Burke of Seattle, Washington and Eileen Suma and husband, Brad of Round Rock, Texas; nine grandchildren; and numerous other loving family and friends.
He will be greeted in heaven by his sister, Pat Honan; Mom, Mary Burke; Dad, Bill Burke (Sergeant of the Chicago Police Department).
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 7, 2018 at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church, 110 St. Gabriel Way, McKinney, Texas 75071.
