IN LOVING MEMORY

Thomas F. Womack

Feb 06 1940 - Apr 11 2026

Thomas “Tom” Folts Womack, age 86, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2026, in Richardson, Texas. He was born on February 6, 1940, in Austin, Texas, to Frances (Folts) and Dan Henry Womack.

Tom graduated from The University of Texas at Austin, where he majored in Chemistry. While there, he was a member of NROTC and was commissioned as a Naval Officer upon graduation. He went on to dedicate nearly three decades to the United States Navy, achieving the rank of Captain. After retiring from the Navy, Tom returned to school, earning a master’s degree in counseling. He later worked for the State of Hawaii as a rehabilitation counselor. Throughout his careers, he exemplified leadership, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to duty.

During his military service, Tom met the love of his life, Georgianna Marie Waltman, who was serving as a Navy nurse. They were married on May 25, 1964, in Bremerton, Washington. Over the years, Tom and Georgianna relocated several times with the military, with their final move bringing them to Hawaii, where they raised their two children, created countless cherished memories, and formed lifelong friendships. They later returned to Texas to begin the next chapter of their lives.

Tom was an avid woodworker and always had a project in progress. He crafted arbors, bookshelves, hanging swings, and Adirondack chairs, among many other creations. When he wasn’t building things, he was building people. As a devoted father and grandfather, he invested deeply in his family, always making time to read, play, and create alongside them. He also faithfully served his church as an Elder for many years, mentoring fellow congregants and pastors alike. His legacy lives on in all that he built—both in wood and in the lives he touched.

Tom is survived by his loving wife, Georgianna Womack of Dallas, Texas; his son, Geoffrey Womack and his wife, Liz Womack, of Perham, Minnesota; his daughter, Beth Anne Enloe and her husband, Will Martin, of Frisco, Texas; his grandchildren, Hannah Womack Mueller, Clair Womack, Olivia Womack, Mason Enloe, Matthew Martin, Tymothy Martin, and Alena Martin; and two great-grandchildren, Tucker Kenneth Mueller and Georgia Ann Mueller.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frances and Dan Womack.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 3601 W. 15th Street, Plano, Texas 75075. Interment will follow on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 11:30 AM at DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211, with military honors.
