Dr. Thomas Elton Linstrum of McKinney, Texas passed away October 24, 2019 at the age of 94. He was born on March 20, 1925 to Oscar Emanuel Linstrum and Lily Caroline (Lundblad) Linstrum in Hutto, Texas. Tom served his country proudly in the United States Army Air Corp. as a combat medic. He married Margie Jo Holcombe on March 5, 1955 and to the union two children, Todd Linstrum and Karen Linstrum were born. Tom attended the University of Texas Medical School in Galveston, Texas. He was a doctor in McKinney, Texas for many years. Tom married Jane McDaniel on January 21, 1996 in Plano, Texas. He was a member of Kiwanis and an active member of the Boy Scouts of America. Tom was also a devoted member of First United Methodist Church in McKinney.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Linstrum of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Karen Linstrum, Ph.D. of Kingwood, Texas; sister, Gladys McDonald of Waco, Texas; and daughter-in-law, Belinda Linstrum of Cleburne, Texas.
Tom was preceded in death by his first wife, Margie Linstrum; parents, Oscar and Lily Linstrum, son, Todd Linstrum; and five siblings.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a remembrance gathering on Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
