Thomas Rhea Allen

March 19, 1931 - May 14, 2013

Thomas Rhea Allen, of McKinney, Texas, passed away on May 14, 2013 at the age of 82. He was born on March 19, 1931, in McKinney, to Joseph Merion and Georgie Lee (Odle) Allen. On July 17, 1957 Thomas married Bessie Roberta Taylor, in Dallas, Texas. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Thomas retired from Braniff Airlines and later worked for Dalfort Aviation for many years. He was a member of the Waddill Street Baptist Church in McKinney.

He is survived by his children, Lisa Johnson and husband Robbie of McKinney, Lana Crim and husband Don of Van Alstyne, Texas and Kerry Recer of McKinney; grandchildren, Kyrstin Nelson, K.C. Johnson, Ty Stewart, Tonya Stewart, Shanna and Greg Scott, Kelly Don Crim, Joshua and Elaine Recer and Christopher Recer; great-grandchild, Autumn Rhea Wheelington; several other great-grandchildren; sister, Geraldine Johnson of McKinney; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.

Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Georgie Allen and wife, Roberta Allen.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m., on Friday, May 17, 2013, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during a visitation being held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening, at the funeral home.
