Therese “Terry” C. Ciesielski of Allen, Texas, formerly a long-time resident of Franklin Park, Illinois, peacefully passed away on August 11, 2018 at the age of 88. She was born November 19, 1929 to Steve and Mary Kidrowski in Chicago, Illinois. In 1949, on her 20th birthday, Therese married Valentine Ciesielski and they resided in the Chicago area until September 2011, when they relocated to Allen, Texas.
Therese spent the last year of her life living at Christian Care Senior Living Community in Allen, Texas. She loved her new apartment which was decorated with her favorite bird, the cardinal. Therese enjoyed participating in all of the community activities, as well as reading at least two or three books a week and doing her word search puzzles. As an avid NASCAR fan, every week Therese would watch the races and cheer on her favorite driver No. 78, Martin Truex, Jr.
Therese was a devout Catholic and prayed daily to St. Jude. No matter where she was, she always had her St. Jude novena prayer card and medals with her; bringing her comfort during her final days.
Therese is survived by her daughter, Nancy and husband, Don Gobel of McKinney, Texas; son, Stephen and wife, Cynthia Ciesielski of Allen, Texas; grandson, Christopher and wife, Rebecca Ciesielski and children of Billings, Montana; granddaughter, Jennifer Ciesielski of Allen, Texas; sister, Agnes and husband, Frank Markiewicz of Chicago, Illinois and numerous other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Valentine Ciesielski and parents, Steve and Mary Kidrowski.
Plans are currently being made for a memorial service in the Chicago area for family and friends.
