Thelma Louise Jimison

Thelma Louise Jimison was born on May 4, 1928, to Shedrick and Doshie Jones, in Greg County, Texas. She gained her independence to eternity with her Lord and Savior on July 4, 2020, in Dallas, Texas.

She continued to grow and develop as a Christian as a graduate from Southern Bible Institute and J. Lee Foster School of Bible Studies.

Her career was in the clothing industry. She retired from Neiman Marcus as lead seamstress for over 30 years. She also retired from The First Baptist Church of Hamilton Park as church clerk and secretary for over 50, as a lifetime member she continued to hold the title as the President Emeritus of the Women’s Ministry. She was well known at First Church as secretary to the late Dr. J. Lee Foster and Dr. Gregory Forster, the church clerk, General President for all women ministries, Ms. J., Mama, Mama J., Mrs. Jimison, Sis., Sister J., Sister Jimison, Friend, Thelma, Louise & Thelma Louise. She was a councilor to many for troubled marriages and for those just going through a bad situation. She was firm, loving, kind, giving, and helpful to all. Always serving as a faithful Christian. No doubt she will be missed by many.

She was preceded in death by loving husband for over 64 years, Novies Jimison; parents; sisters, Mae Richardson and Versie Carter; brothers, Adolphus Williams, Ed Perry and Noble Jones.

Those left to cherish her precious memories are her 6 children who call her Mama: Miaron Louise Jimison Nance, Norvis, Michael (Verdell “Pee Wee”), Kevin (Maria), Christopher and Aaron (Carmelita) Jimison; 13 Grandchildren who call her Meme: Latasha; Michael II & Chaunte’; Nataleigh, Kevin Jr., Jasmine & Malcolm; Jessica, Jada & Jasmine; Aryanna & Joshuah Jimison & Byron Jimmerson; 8 great grandchildren who also call her Meme: Jamari, Jarius, Jeremiah, Mya, Cam’ron, Alexandria, Crystal & De’ojanae; niece, Angela Jones-Gray and nephews, Fred Jimison & Waymon Jones and many, many, many others.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 11, 2020 at First Baptist Church Hamilton Park, 300 East Phillips Street, Richardson, Texas 75081. Interment will be at Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery.

A “come and go” visitation will be held on Friday, July 10, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. Only a limited number of guests will be allowed to enter the funeral home facility at any one time to maintain social distancing.
