Thelma Lucille Lewis, age 99, of Plano, Texas passed away July 9, 2009. She was born March 10, 1910 in Kirven, Texas to Cleveland and Agnes (Thomas) Dawson. She married Lamont Lewis in Los Angeles, California. Thelma played baseball when she was younger and her nickname was “Hank”. She enjoyed arts, crafts and making hats. Thelma worked as a home care provider. She is survived by her son, William Lee Stanley and wife, Vivian of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Ravina Ray, Delbert Stanley, Nyla Stanley, Larry Lewis and Keenan Stanley; great-grandchildren, Winters Lewis, Jheryn Lewis, Cole McKellar, Larry Lewis, Jr. and Teri Williams; great-great-grandchildren, Brayden McKellar, Lily Kaye McKellar, and Zoe Stanley; sister, Cathleen Butcher; and several nieces, nephews and host of other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cleveland and Agnes Dawson; husband, Lamont Lewis; son, Virgil Thomas Stanley; brother, Vanderbilt and sister, Rebecca Etheline Holley. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Monday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Monday beginning at 11:00 a.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas.
