Thelma Beatrice Spearman of Chandler, Texas passed away on February 21, 2018 at the age of 99. She was born on November 23, 1918 to Bob and Annie Mae (Wells) Lambert in Caddo Mills, Texas. Thelma married Ira Oscar Spearman on May 5, 1934 and together they had seven sons. She was a waitress for 50 years; 10 of those years in Reno, Nevada and 40 years in Texas. Thelma worked until she was 82 years old. She was the last living person of her generation on either side of the family.
Thelma is survived by sons, Herbert Dean Spearman and wife, Betty, Ira Robert Spearman, Charles Loyd Spearman all of Chandler, Texas, Johnny Spearman of Reno, Nevada and Jerry Spearman also of Chandler, Texas. Thelma was “Granny” to 16 grandchildren and to many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Oscar Spearman; father, Bob Lambert; mother, Annie Mae Lambert; brothers, Jimmy Lambert and Travis Lambert; sister, Ruby Lambert Williams; sons, Jimmy Lee Spearman and J.W. Spearman; grandson, Michael Dean Spearman; and great-grandson, Jeremy Kirk Spearman.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 26, 2018 at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Monday morning from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
