The Honorable Charles F. Sandoval

The Honorable Charles F. Sandoval of Plano, Texas passed away July 25, 2023, at the age of 81. He was born June 18, 1942 to Isidore and Marcella Sandoval in Las Vegas, New Mexico. Charles grew up in El Paso, Texas and earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas El Paso.  He went on to earn his law degree from the University of Texas Austin.  Charles proudly served his country in the United States Army as a 2nd Lieutenant.  He served as a State District Judge in Texas for 12 years.  He married Barbara Susannah Byrne in Westfield, New Jersey until her passing in 1999.

Charles served as a board member of St. Marks Catholic Church and St. Marks Catholic School.  He served as President of the Plano Bar Association, President of the Collin County Bar Association, and President of the Collin County Republican Party Men’s Club.  In 1992, his family was voted Plano Family of the Year.  Charles married Doan Devenyns in 2007 in Plano, Texas.

Charles is survived by his wife, Doan Devenyns Sandoval; three daughters, Marisol Keeney and husband, Will, Elisabeth Sandoval, and Veronica Sandoval; two sons, Charles F. Sandoval, Jr. and wife, Nicole and Michael Sandoval and wife, Kerri-Michelle; five grandchildren, Isaac, Henry, Layne, Emmaline, and Gabriella; brothers, Jim Sandoval and wife, Monica and Richard Sandoval and wife, Ginger.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 28, 2023 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 8000 Eldorado Parkway, Frisco, Texas.  Interment will be held at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas.
