Thao Quang Hoang and Dang Ngoc Tran were a devoted couple that was able to grow old together until the very end. Mr. Hoang died on February 2, 2021 at 8:25 p.m. in Medical City McKinney; Mrs. Tran died on January 25, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. in Allen Presbyterian Hospital.
Their ardent love blossomed in Quang Binh, Vietnam where they were both born. Together, they worked tirelessly to raise their children. They initially resided in San Jose, California upon arriving to the United States in 1991; however, they permanently settled in Allen, Texas by 2006 before their passing. Their endeavor of providing a better future for the family’s prospective generations continues to be fulfilled through the strong values that they instilled in their children and grandchildren continues to live on. They are survived by four sons, five daughters, and many nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Mr. Hoang was a loving man who took pride in his Buddhist faith, family roots, and philanthropy. He was a family man who prioritized the wellbeing and success of his loved ones. Rain or shine, he would always walk his children to school. Mrs. Tran shared the same passions as her husband, especially his devotion to Buddhism and family. She could oftentimes be found rewriting Buddhist scriptures into her notebook. Also, there was a period of time when she raised all nine children by herself after her husband faced forced internment by the Communists. Regardless of financial circumstances, they always pushed their children to pursue their education and a secure future. Mr. Hoang’s and Mrs. Tran’s passions extended beyond their family as well. They always offered help to any friends or neighbors who were experiencing difficult situations. Through Buddhist principles and tender love, they nurtured a family that strives towards exemplifying loyalty, compassion, respect, and perseverance in everyday life. They will be deeply missed by all the lives they touched, but their spirits live on.
