IN LOVING MEMORY

Thanh Tran

Jan 01 1947 - Apr 15 2026

Thanh Tran, 79, passed away April 15, 2026, in Carrollton, Texas.  He was born on January 1, 1947, in Cholon, Vietnam, to his loving parents Hiep Vinh Tran and Nga Tai Ngo.

Thanh was raised in Vietnam, where he learned the values of perseverance, humility, and devotion to family. On December 24, 1972, he married the love of his life, Yen Phi Mac, in Cholon, Vietnam, beginning a marriage that would span 53 years and be filled with love, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment.

In search of greater opportunities for his family, Thanh later made his home in the United States. He worked as a machine operator in the paper industry, earning the respect of his coworkers through his dedication, dependability, and strong work ethic. In addition to his work, he was also a skilled barber, a craft through which he connected with friends and members of his community, always offering conversation, laughter, and kindness along with his services.

Outside of work, Thanh found peace and happiness in gardening. He took great pride in tending to his plants, nurturing them with patience and care—qualities that reflected the way he lived his life and loved his family.

Above all, Thanh was a devoted husband, a loving father to his son Robert and daughter Jill, and a proud grandfather to his five grandchildren. His family was his greatest joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, gentle spirit, and the deep love he had for those closest to him.

He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, resilience, and unwavering love that will continue to live on through his family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Thanh is survived by his wife, Yen Phi Mac of Carrollton, Texas; son, Robert Tran and daughter-in-law, Linh Lai; daughter, Jill Tran and son-in-law, Thien Bui of The Colony, Texas; grandchildren, Ryan Tran and Austin Tran of Carrollton, Texas, and Eli Bui, Evan Bui, and Ethan Bui of The Colony, Texas; and a host of extended family members and friends, who will miss him dearly and forever cherish his memory.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. Buddhist prayer and chanting, open to all, will begin at 9:45 a.m. with the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Following the funeral, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service.

The family will receive guests during a visitation from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the funeral home.

Thanh’s family requests that rather than flowers or monetary donations, honor Thanh’s memory by showing love to those around you.
