Tessema Maashio, age 79, of Frisco, Texas, passed away December 3, 2021. Tessema was born December 8, 1941, in Asmara Eritrea, Ethiopia, to Tesfazghi and Abrahatzion (Haile) Maashio. He married Haddas Mesghena on July 13, 1963, in Asmara Eritrea. Tessema was an aircraft mechanic and spent twenty-five years in air traffic control. He was a great soccer player and enjoyed coaching the sport. Tessema was active in his Jehovah’s Witness congregation.
He is survived by his wife, Haddas Maashio; sons, Jonathan Maashio, Abel Maashio, Gideon Maashio, and Daniel Maashio; daughters, Shushan Maashio and Tamar Maashio; granddaughters, Alexandria, Jessica, Lydia, Sophia, Ella, Andrianna, and Victoria; and grandsons, Zachary, Joshua, Isaac, Marcus, Andrew, Ezra, and Kaleb.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends during a visitation beginning at 12:00 Noon on Monday, December 20, 2021, at Berkshire Chapel, 9073 Berkshire Dr., Frisco, Texas. Funeral service begins here at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Ridgeview West Memorial Park, 7800 Sanctuary Dr., Frisco, Texas, 75033.
