Terry Reed Morrow of Fairview, Texas passed away on August 27, 2017 at the age of 73. He was born on August 29, 1943 to Addison H. and Wilhelmina “Wilma” (Fincke) Morrow in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Terry attended Etna High School in Etna, Pennsylvania from 1956 to 1958. He then went on to graduate from Milton Hershey School in Hershey, Pennsylvania in 1961 as the Valedictorian. Terry graduated from Lafayette College in 1965 with his BS in Chemical Engineering. He then did post graduate studies at Newark College of Engineering in 1967. Terry married Karen Richards on February 22, 1969 in Baden, Pennsylvania. He worked for Exxon Mobil Corporation for 35 years in various refinery and headquarter positions in New York and Fairfax, Virginia from 1968 until 2000 when he retired. Terry was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in McKinney from 2007 until present where he was a member of the choir, served as a Stephen Minister from 2011 to present and regularly participated in mens and small group bible studies. He belonged to 9 Hole Golfers, the Men’s Tennis Association, and the Heritage Ranch Chorale at Heritage Ranch. Terry was active in his community, volunteering at McKinney Medical Center from 2007-2012. He was awarded the Frist Humanitarian Award in 2010 for outstanding commitment to humanitarian values of HCA and McKinney Medical Center. Terry also volunteered at The Samaritan Inn in McKinney from 2007-2012. He served on the Collin County Appraisal Review Board from 2010-2013 and the Town of Fairview Zoning Board of Adjustments from 2015 to present.
Terry is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Karen Morrow of Fairview; children, Jennifer Morrow Tinsman and husband, Tim of Allen, Jeffrey Eric Morrow and wife, Lauren of Haymarket, Virginia and Jill Elyssa Morrow of Gainesville, Virginia; grandchildren, Ella, Grace, Lily and Claire Morrow of Haymarket, Virginia; Alexander and Sophia Tinsman of Allen; step-grandson, Samuel Tinsman of Austin; brother, Ronald A. Morrow of Winter Haven, Florida; sister, Kathy Morrow Weitzel of Phoenix, Arizona; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 3, 2017 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 2708 Virginia Parkway, McKinney, Texas 75071. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Saturday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
