Terry Lynn Machost

May 28 1955 - Oct 01 2023

Terry Lynn Machost of Plano, Texas passed away on October 1, 2023, at the age of 68. He was born on May 28, 1955, in Alice, Texas, to his loving parents, Ruby Irene Neely and Robert Lee Machost.

Terry's journey began in Alice, Texas, where he grew up and graduated from Alice High School in 1973. He studied further and earned an associate degree from DeVry University. He met his wife, Catherine Marie Smith in high school and were married for 26 years, before her passing in February 2006.

For over four decades, Terry dedicated his professional life to the world of semiconductor research at Texas Instruments. His commitment and expertise left an indelible mark on the industry, and his contributions will be remembered for years to come.

Outside of work, Terry had a passion for muscle cars and the thrill of drag racing. He was an active member of the Texas Muscle Car Club Challenge Series (TMCCC), where he fostered lifelong friendships with fellow car enthusiasts who shared his love for the open road.

Terry loved visiting his daughters in Colorado and adventuring in the mountains with hopes of moving there after he retired. On any given day, you could find him listening to classic rock vinyl’s, watching the TX Rangers, and dominating at card games with his kids.  He was always the biggest cheerleader to his 5 children and 5 grandchildren. He loved nothing more than to see his family happy and following their dreams. Terry could always make you laugh and had the biggest, kindest heart. He was a devoted family man who cherished every opportunity he could to watch his children and grandchildren grow. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.

He is survived by his children, Erin Nichole Slaughter and husband, Shawn of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Nathaniel Wayne Machost and fiancé, Brandi Steele of The Colony, Texas, Jeremiah Lee Machost and wife, Corrine of McKinney, Texas, Daniel Joseph Machost and wife, Alexus of Farmersville, Texas; and Rebecca Lynn Machost of Denver, Colorado; 5 grandchildren, Vivienne, Olivia, Lily, Damian, and Daisy; brothers and sisters, Sharon Starr of College Station, Texas, Robert Machost of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Judy Mask of San Antonio, Texas; and a host of other loving family and friends.
