Terry Horace Barker, age 81 of Frisco, Texas passed away peacefully on March 18, 2024. He was born on May 16, 1942, to Orlas Mae (Edrington) and Horace Orley Barker in Fredericktown, Missouri. Terry proudly served in the United States Army from 1960 to 1963.
He was a gentle and trust-worthy man who loved the Lord, his wife, children, and grandchildren with all his heart. He loved singing gospel songs and playing his guitar. He was truly a kid at heart and found immense joy playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren every chance he could. He enjoyed watching baseball from home or in person, especially the Texas Rangers, with family. His lasting legacy will be how he praised God throughout the storms of life.
Terry is survived by his children, Cynde Jones (Phil) and their children Conner Jones (Raigan), Parker Jones (Kayla) and Aiden Jones; Danny Barker (Anna) and children Zoey Barker, Eli Barker, Eleanor Barker, and Zackary Barker due May 1st; Cathrine Barker; John Reed and children Benjamin Reed and Jonathon Reed; Teresa Schmied (Richard) and their children Elizabeth Price (Jon), Erica Smith (Mark), Eddie Schmied and Ethan Schmied; 10 great-grandchildren with two more on the way and his two brothers, Ed Barker (Eva) and Rick Barker (Linda).
Terry was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years Martha Ann Barker, his parents, Orlas and Horace Barker and his brother, Ronald Barker.
The family would like to give a very special thank you to Stella Khumalo, his caregiver these past many months. Her dedication and loving care of Terry will always be fondly remembered.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
