IN LOVING MEMORY

Terry Anthony Caterisano

Jan 27 1955 - Jan 13 2026

Terry Anthony Caterisano died at home on January 13, 2026, after a long-fought battle with cancer. He was born on January 27, 1955, in Washington, DC to Donald Caterisano and Marjorie Caterisano (Nichols).

Terry spent formative years in Vienna, Virginia; Rome, Italy; Tokyo, Japan, Niagara Falls, New York; and Dallas, Texas. He met his wife, Elizabeth, in 1978—his next-door neighbor at the time. They married in 1982 and had two children, Michael and Sarah. The family lived in Plano, Texas and Colorado Springs, Colorado, before settling in Allen, Texas, in 1993.

He was a passionate musician, playing drums, trumpet, harmonica, and guitar. He especially loved classic rock and jazz, but he would tap his foot along to just about anything. He spent his early life playing in bands and continued to spend his free time in jam sessions, playing with his brothers, his son, his colleagues, or solo; filling the house with the sound of his soul. His love of music is what touched the lives of most who knew him.

He was an industry pioneer in telecommunications, dedicating nearly 50 years to his work, most recently at Verizon. He valued learning from his colleagues and sought to share his knowledge with others.

As hard as he worked, he always prioritized his family—from attending every school event or performance to taking his wife on road trips to Colorado.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; son, Michael; daughter, Sarah; siblings, Katherine, Paul, Susanna, and Don; and many nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved very much.

He did not want anyone to fuss over his death too much, so there will be no funeral service. He passed on this message:

“I want my immediate and extended family to know that I love them and I always have.”

In lieu of any service or flowers, have a burger and a beer.
