Teresa R. Hernandez of Allen, Texas passed away on December 5, 2021 at the age of 96. She was born on June 17, 1925 to Rafael Rodriguez and Florencia (Perez) Rodriguez in Davao, Philippines. Teresa married Isagani Hernandez, Sr. on March 29, 1941 and they celebrated 52 years of marriage. Teresa, affectionately called “Mamang” by her family, was a loving wife and matriarch to multiple generations. She became the honorary mother and grandmother for many Filipinos in the area. Teresa was a devout Catholic and served the Lord through Handmaids for Christ. She was also an avid gardener and spent most of her days tending to her most prized possessions - her plants. A survivor of World War II in the Philippines, breast cancer, and a worldwide pandemic. She will always be remembered for her strength, kindness, and sense of humor.
Teresa is survived by her 5 children, Isagani Jr., Elizabeth, Rodolfo, Teresita, Joel, and their families including 2 sons-in-law, 1 daughter-in-law, 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren, most of whom had the opportunity to meet and share her love.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Isagani Hernandez, Sr.; daughter, Clarita; son-in-law, Juanito and grandson, Arnold.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
