Tammy Rix Gaumer

Tammy Rix Gaumer, age 54, of Allen, Texas, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, March 23, 2016, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Tammy was born to Charles and Mary Ann Rix in Kalamazoo, Michigan on July 29, 1961. She was the youngest of five, spending most of her childhood in Dallas, Texas. Tammy graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1978 and attended college at North Texas University. She met a Kansas boy, David Gaumer, and married on June 20, 1987. Tammy and Dave have three priceless children, Nick, Amanda and Julia Gaumer.

She is survived by her siblings Chris Rix and wife Wrenda; Char Crane and husband Joe; Henrietta Wood and husband Alan; sister-in-law Jill Rix; brother-in-law Dan Gaumer and wife Sonja; brother-in-law Doug Gaumer and wife Kathy; and nieces and nephews Sky Crane, Chase Crane Magness, Taylor Rix, Adrienne Wood, Tessa Wood, Alexa Gaumer, Savannah Gaumer, Larissa Gaumer, and Austin Gaumer. Tammy is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Mary Ann Rix, and eldest brother, John Rix.

Tammy knew how to live life! She was generous, thoughtful, and always took care of everyone else’s needs, often at the expense of her own. Her personality was electric and she was truly loved by all who knew her. She will be missed immensely.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 26, 2016, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas.  Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen.  The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Friday evening at the funeral home.
