Sylvia Jean (Taylor) Toler, of McKinney, Texas, passed away on June 5, 2016, at the age of 72. She was born February 7, 1944 to Bennie Alton Taylor, Jr. and Helen Marie Brazell, in Winningkoff, Texas. Jean lived in Plano where she attended school until her graduation in 1962. She met Nolen in 1961 and they were married February 23, 1962 in Plano. Jean had many jobs during her life, but she said her most important one was being mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her family; and taking care of her husband.
She is survived by her son, David Toler and wife, Pam; daughter, Michelle Toler-Ferwalt, all of McKinney; brother, Pat Taylor of Iowa Park, Texas; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Jean is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-three years, Jerry Nolen Toler; parents, and sisters, Carolyn Vandiver and Altonette McGehee.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 11, 2016, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Plano Mutual Cemetery in Plano, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., Friday evening at the funeral home.
