Susie Jenkins

Susie Jenkins of McKinney, Texas passed away on June 20, 2020 at the age of 77.  Susie was born in Melissa, Texas on May 9, 1943, to Clyde and Opal (Cave) Crouch. She married Rodney Jenkins on September 15, 1961, in Melissa, Texas. Susie graduated from Hardin-Simmons University while raising two children and supporting her husband. After several years of teaching, she retired from McKinney Independent School District. She was a long-time member of Cottonwood Creek Church in Allen, Texas.

She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Rodney Jenkins; son, David Jenkins; daughter, Karen Shelton and husband, Mark Edwards of McKinney, Texas; grandsons, David Jenkins, Jr., Drew Jenkins, Dustin Jenkins, C.J. Shelton, Colby Shelton, Caleb Shelton; seven great grandchildren and a host of other loving family and friends.

Susie was preceded in death by her parents and her son-in-law, Clint Shelton.  

In support of our local, state, and federal govt including CDC directives and to protect the physical health, safety and well-being of our community, only a limited number of invited guests will be allowed to attend the Funeral Service.

The service will also be live streamed on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. on the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Facebook page and a recorded video will be available following the funeral service on Susie’s obituary page.

However, those who would like to honor Susie and show their support to her family may come to the funeral home where ample parking is available. While you remain in your vehicle, you may watch the live streamed service on your personal device (laptop, tablet or smartphone) or listen through a designated FM radio channel.

A “come and go” visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. Only a limited number of guests will be allowed to enter the funeral home facility at any one time to maintain social distancing.

Following the funeral service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service where all are invited to attend the committal service maintaining social distancing or you may remain in your vehicle. You will be able to listen to the service through speakers set up at the gravesite.
