Susanne Nelson Dugger

Susanne Nelson Dugger, age 86, of Frisco, TX, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, January 24, 2026. She was born December 2, 1939, in Hillsboro, TX, to Frank Alfred and Bulavonne (Wilmoth) Nelson.

She married Howard Dugger on December 20, 1964, in Hillsboro, TX.  They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary before he passed away in 2015.  Susanne and Howard moved from San Antonio to Houston in 1972 where their daughter Cindy was born.  In 1983, they moved to Wylie, Texas where they lived for over 30 years.

After graduating from Hillsboro High School and later Navarro Junior College, Susanne had a longstanding career in Insurance as a claims adjuster, working at Pennsylvania National, Kemper, and finally alongside Howard at EMC Insurance.

Susanne and Howard loved to travel and made many trips to Yellowstone National Park as well at Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park.  They also took several cruises to Alaska, Mexico and the Northeast US.  They also shared a great love for Miniature Schnauzers, Desperado Tacos, Cracker Barrel, road trips, and Willie Nelson.

Above all, Susanne was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, Mimi and friend to many.

Susanne is survived by her Daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Ralph Bishop, of Frisco, TX; Grandson, Will Bishop of Boulder, CO; Brother and Sister-in-law, John and Linda Nelson of Sherman, TX.   

She was preceded in death by her loving Husband, Howard Dugger and her Parents, Frank Alfred and Bulavonne Nelson, and Brother Frank Jr.

The family would like to also thank Karey Ervin for her friendship and support over the past three years as well as the wonderful staff at The Landing at Watermere in Frisco.

A memorial service will be held Saturday February 7, 2026, at 2 PM, at Turrentine Jackson Morrow Funeral Chapel, 8520 Main St, Frisco, TX, with an After Service Reception immediately following at the Bishop home.
