Susan Mae Hasko of Fairview, Texas, passed away on September 22, 2024, at the age of 84. She was born on January 2, 1940, in Elyria, Ohio, to Russell and Dorothy (Hilliard) Payne.
Susan married John Hasko on November 30, 1963, in Elyria, Ohio. She was a proud graduate of Elyria High School and attended Bear Valley Community College. Susan dedicated over 20 years of her career to customer service management at Verizon (formerly General Telephone).
A passionate volunteer, Susan spent more than 12 years at Texas Health Allen and was actively involved at St. Jude Catholic Church in Allen. Her generous spirit also led her to volunteer at the Newman Center in California. She cherished the time spent camping with her husband and was a member of the Smile-A-Milers camping group.
In addition to her volunteer service, Susan was a supportive member of the Parents of Murdered Children support group and the Waiting Wives Club, providing strength and compassion to those in need.
Susan is survived by her son, Kevin Hasko and wife, Jennifer of Allen, Texas; nine grandchildren, Zachary, Hannah, and Haylee Hasko; Trenton Sotelo and wife, Kelsey, Tess Sotelo, Brendan Belknap, Tori Dahring and husband, Jacob, and Teagan and Talon Sotelo; and brother, John Payne.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Hasko; children, Christopher Hasko, Kimberly Belknap, and William Hasko; and brothers, Charles and James Payne.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, September 27, 2024 at St. Jude Catholic Church in Allen, Texas. The family will receive guests for a rosary at 6:00 p.m., with a visitation to follow from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
