Susan Christine Yuhasz

Susan Christine (Calligeris) Yuhasz, a resident of Allen, Texas, gracefully passed onto heaven November 26, 2024, at the age of 76. She was born on October 21, 1948, to James Christopher Calligeris and M. Grace (Ryan) Calligeris in Saratoga Springs, New York. Susan graduated from Bethlehem Central High School in the Class of 1966 and continued her studies at Albany Business College earning a one-year Special Executive Secretarial Certificate.

Susan worked for Environmental Conservation in the State of New York for many years, retiring on March 31, 2003. She was a follower of Jesus being saved by grace through faith in April of 1999 at Temple Baptist Church in Halfmoon, New York.  After moving to Texas, she attended Grace Church in Allen, Texas until her time on earth was finished. 

Susan loved her friends and family fiercely, mainly, her four grandchildren who she was extremely proud of. She spent her years with friends, family and grandchildren throughout New York and Texas. She enjoyed crocheting, creating blankets and wash cloths for missionaries to use overseas. She enjoyed baking cookies and her famous English muffin loaf. She loved spending time with her small group from church, helping others belong and finding their place and enjoyed reading her bible and studying with friends. She was also an avid Hallmark movie watcher enjoying every genre from mystery to Christmas. 

Susan is survived by her sons, Christopher Charles Yuhasz (Linda), of Melrose, New York and; William Andrew Yuhasz (Sarah), of Allen, Texas, grandchildren, Gabriel, Ella, Lillian and Haley; sister, Carol McHugh (Rick), of Saratoga, New York; and a host of extended family and friends, who will dearly miss her and cherish her memory.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents James and Grace Calligeris.

There will be a celebration of her life at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Grace Church, 2005 Estates Parkway, Allen, Texas, 75002.  There will also be a celebration of life in New York in June 2025, date TBD.
