Su Lan Tai Chang

Su Lan Tai Chang passed away on January 10, 2022, in Frisco, Texas, at the age of 82 and went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ. She was born on January 4, 1940, to Jenn Ming Tai and Hua Lian Wang in Zhucheng of Shandong Province, China. Su Lan married Kuoliang Chang on December 30th, 1963, in Xindian, Taiwan. She was a member of the Plano Chinese Alliance Church. Su Lan was a devout Christian and always prayed for her family and others. She had a servant’s heart and was compassionate towards others.

In 1972 Su Lan's family immigrated to Brazil and worked initially in the retail industry but later she and Kouliang ran a restaurant until 1986 when the family moved to Connecticut, only to return back to Brazil in 1989, but finally retiring in Frisco, Texas, in 2000. 

Su Lan celebrated 58 years of marriage with Kuoliang just 2 weeks ago. She loved her family, lived close to her sons, and cherished her time with her beloved grandchildren. She helped take care of them from birth until now. She enjoyed gardening in her yard, growing vegetables, fruits, and flowers and taking walks in the neighborhood. 

She is survived by her husband, Kuoliang Chang; son Robert; son Peter and his wife Lucia; son Patrick and his wife Shelley; grandchildren Daniel, Rachel, Joshua, Abigail, Lydia; brother Tzuo Wen of Brazil; sister Susy Suh Jen Yang and her husband Shan Tung Yang of Canada; and many other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Tzmo Ing Tair in 2012.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:45p.m. CST, Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. The service will be livestreamed starting at 2PM at https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/su-lan-tai-chang. After the service, the recorded livestream will be available for viewing at the same link. 

A family only graveside service will be held immediately after.

The family will receive friends during a visitation on Monday (1/17) evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. CST at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
