Sue Nixon Lindsey

Sue Nixon Lindsey, known as Mommysue to her family and friends, of McKinney, Texas passed away May 14, 2019 at the age of 78.  She was born on July 8, 1940 to Alton Nixon and Lydia (Hendricks) Nixon in Anna, Texas. Sue was a 1958 graduate of McKinney High School in McKinney, Texas. She married her high school sweetheart Johnny Lindsey on January 3, 1959 in Durant, Oklahoma and together they raised three children in McKinney. Sue was an active leader in the Cub Scouts and Campfire Girls for several years.  She was an avid gardener and known far and wide for her spectacular cooking.  Sue was a devoted and generous wife, mother, and grandmother.  She was a member of First Christian Church of McKinney where she taught Sunday school. Sue spent her life taking care of everyone; she was a "force of nature" and will be profoundly missed.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Johnny Lindsey of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Joy Parkhill and husband, Clay; son, Troy Lindsey and wife, Lara; granddaughters, Elizabeth and Allison Lindsey; grandson, John Nichols; son-in-law, Steve Nichols; twin sister, Lue Love; and many nieces, nephews, and a large extended family.

Sue was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Kay Nichols; parents, Alton and Lydia Nixon; sisters, Joy Lee Nixon, Barbara Estep, Polly Morton, Dottie Douglas, and Sherry Crigger; and brothers, R.A. Nixon and W.L. Nixon.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 17, 2019 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
