Sue Horn, a cherished resident of McKinney, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025, at the age of 94. She was born on November 9, 1931, in Azle, Texas, to John Chester and Ita (Hamby) Culver. 

After graduating high school, Sue pursued her passion  at Beauty School, where she became a talented beauty operator. It was in McKinney that she met the love of her life, Richard “Dickie” D. Horn. They were united in marriage on December 10, 1950, in Dallas, Texas, beginning a beautiful journey together filled with cherished moments.

Sue was not just a devoted homemaker; she was the heart of her family, pouring all of her love into her family. A lifelong member of the First Christian Church of McKinney, Sue dedicated years to teaching Sunday School and nurturing the faith of others. Her spirit of community extended far beyond the church; she was actively involved in the Willa Largent Garden Club, Eldorado Ladies, Owl Forum, Couples Supper Club, and Dance Club. Sue made connections wherever she went, and her friendships were a testament to her kind heart and generous spirit.

She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Sue will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, Richard Kent Horn, Sr. and wife, Debra; daughter, Julie Hudson and husband, Jim, all of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Richard Kent Horn, Jr. of McKinney, Monica Loera and husband, Josh, also of McKinney; Drew Hudson of Plano, Texas, Sarah Hudson of McKinney, Meredith Brown and husband, Bradley of Hurst, Texas and Madison Stroud of McKinney; great-grandchildren, Katy Loera of North Carolina, Ashlyn Loera of McKinney, and Noah Loera, also of McKinney; and numerous other loving family members and cherished friends.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Dickie Horn, infant daughter, Melinda Sue Horn, parents, one sister and one brother. 

A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 2, 2026 at First Christian Church, 1800 West Hunt Street, McKinney, Texas 75069. The family will receive friends during a visitation prior to the service beginning at 12:30 p.m. at the church.

Sue will be interred with her husband at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen.
