Sue Evelyn Samuels, a lifelong resident of McKinney, Texas, passed away on November 16, 2024, at the age of 84. She was born on January 8, 1940, to Alonzo Parker and Sallie Chloe (Melton) Parker. Sue was a proud graduate of McKinney High School, in her beloved community.

Sue was united in marriage in 1956 to the late Jerry Samuels in McKinney, and together they shared many years filled with cherished memories before his passing. She devoted her career to working in medical records for Collin Memorial Hospital, where she made a positive impact on all who worked with her. Sue retired after 25 years of dedicated service.

A faithful and devoted member of Waddill Street Baptist Church in McKinney, Sue was known for her kindness, compassion, and unwavering support of her community.

Sue will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. Sue's legacy of love, faith, and service will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her daughter, Laurie Loven and husband, Doyle of McKinney, Texas; son, Jeff Samuels and wife, Jeannie of Melissa, Texas; daughter, Lyndie Cawthon of Leonard, Texas; four grandchildren, Rachel Christensen, Samuel Cawthon, Caleb Cawthon, and Gabriel Cawthon; three great-grandchildren, Addison Cawthon, Colt Cawthon and Charlotte Christensen; niece, Norma Coats; and a host of other loving family and friends.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Samuels; parents, Alonzo and Sallie Chloe Parker; brothers, Richard Parker and Arthur Parker; and sisters, Dorothy Nell Kimberlin, Hazel Alder and Lucille Allen; son-in-law, Joe Cawthon.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 22, 2024 at Melissa Christian Church, 1708 West Harrison Street, Melissa, Texas 75454.

Sue will be laid to rest in a private burial at Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney, Texas.
