Steven Paul Carpenter, 81, of McKinney, Texas went home to be with the Lord on March 16, 2026.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Jeanne Lee Carpenter, whom he married on May 24, 1969, and God blessed with 57 years of marriage. He is also survived by siblings Sally Phillips (late husband Bill), John (wife Theresa) and blessed with three children, Steven Carpenter II (wife Robin), Amy Haynes (husband Jon), and Tim Carpenter (wife Sarah). Steven has six grandchildren, Ashlee Bates (husband Joe), Camille Baker (husband Josh), Breanna Garcia (husband Tony), Lindsey Haynes, Lucas Haynes and Hayden Carpenter. And three great grandchildren, Callen, Elijah James, and Hanna.
Steven was preceded in death by parents Don and Mary Lee Carpenter of Lone Jack, Missouri.
Steven gave his life to Christ during his childhood in Kansas City, Missouri and remained a dedicated servant of the Lord through ministry, theological writings, and scriptural teaching. He is a graduate of John Brown University and Dallas Theological Seminary and received his Doctorate of Ministry from Knox Seminary. He treasured his time as pastor of Strasburg Union Church until his passing and as a guest pastor of Christian Fellowship Ministry Church in Richmond.
Steven had a strong love for his family, treasuring the moments he had with each one. His smile and laugh lit up a room and he was always willing to have a conversation or give wise scriptural counsel. He will be missed.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. The service will also be live streamed at the following link: https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/steven-paul-carpenter. Interment will be held at Ridgeview Memorial Park following the service.
The family will receive guests for a visitation from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday evening at the funeral home.
