Captain Steven G. Fruscella

On May 3, 2025 at 2:10 a.m., United States Army Captain Steven G. Fruscella, age 71 entered the Heavenly Kingdom to spend eternity with his Lord & Savior.  Steve was born to Major Salvatore and Norma Fruscella on December 17, 1953.  He attended the United States Military Academy, West Point, New York.  Steve served in the Army Corps of Engineers which led him to an engineering career with prestigious engineering firms. Steve was the spiritual leader for his family, provider and protector.  He was a true American Patriot. Steve taught his grandsons to love and respect the American Flag.

He was a member of St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church in McKinney, Texas.  His ministry was to be a voice of the unborn babies by serving in the Right to Life and 40 days for Life Ministries.  He will be fondly remembered for his wit, compassion, generous heart, long prayers before meals and his 3 x 5 cards!

Steve is survived by his wife, Melissa Fruscella of McKinney, Texas; daughters, Angela Fruscella of Baja California, Mexico, Danielle Marvin and husband, Johnny of McKinney, Texas, Heather Smith and husband, Chase of Prosper, Texas, and Majaunta Fruscella of Amarillo, Texas; grandchildren, Lincoln and Teller Marvin, and King, Knox, and Legend Smith; brother, James Fruscella and wife, Laura of Barneveld, New York; his nieces and nephews; and numerous other loving family and cherished friends. He is also fondly remembered by his USMA Class of 1975 Company C-3. Hooah!

Steve is preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held on 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 30, 2025 at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church, 110 St. Gabriel Way, McKinney, Texas 75071 with a reception to follow. Steven will be inurned with Military Honors at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. 

Memorial donations may be made in Steve’s memory to Hope Women’s Center or Tunnels to Towers Foundation.
