IN LOVING MEMORY

Steven Andrew Johnson, Sr.

Jun 01 1959 - Jul 31 2025

Steven Andrew Johnson, Sr., of McKinney, Texas, passed away on July 31, 2025, at the age of 66. Born in Mahopac, New York, on June 1, 1959, to Harold Johnson and Joan (Keep) Johnson, Steven lived a life defined by creativity, craftsmanship, and a deep love for his family.

A true enthusiast of classic cars, Steven took great pride in restoring timeless American icons, including a ’67 GTO, a ’66 Chevy C10, and a ’66 Impala. In later years, his passion extended to his modern-day muscle car, a 2017 Challenger. Beyond the garage, Steven was a talented carpenter who found joy in home improvement projects, always building, fixing, and improving with care and precision.

Music was ever-present in Steven's life and home. Whether it was blues, classic rock, or new wave, the soundtrack of his world was rich, eclectic, and always playing—bringing comfort, joy, and connection to those around him.

Steven is survived by his children: Steven Jr., Theresa, Will (and wife Rachel), Victoria, and Zachary; his beloved grandson, Dmitri Babbs; and his loyal companion, Dave the Dog. He is also survived by five brothers and one sister.

He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as several cherished siblings—two sisters and a brother—who welcomed him home.

Steven’s legacy lives on through the memories he created, the projects he poured himself into, and the music that filled his world. He will be deeply missed.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 8, 2025 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
