IN LOVING MEMORY

Steve Anthony Schnitzius

Jan 28 1950 - Nov 22 2020

‘'STEPHEN ANTHONY JOHN SCHNITZIUS,’’ was what Steve was called by his wife, Lynda, after one of his famous pranks. Steve has returned to God to have a beer and continue pranks and jokes from beyond.

Lynda will miss him cutting up with the grandkids, David, Roslyn, Ben, Henry, Preston, and Harper. As a husband for 25 years, Steve set an example of dedication, sacrifice, and loyalty.

He worked long, thankless hours in the service industry making millions for his bosses, and in return was rewarded a broken body. Although he would come home from work exhausted, he always made sure to have a hot meal on the table. Steve was an excellent cook. He made delicious, undercooked brownies and never drained the taco meat, which was, as he said ‘’the right way.’’

Although raising kids was a new experience for him and expressing his emotions was difficult, his love always shined through in his actions. He always made sure to call on any celebration or holiday and called his siblings weekly. He was well known for his tacky birthday cards, but he always followed up with a well thought out perfect card. Beneath his grizzly exterior he had a heart of gold. Steve was always vigilant to help anyone in need but never wanted to be recognized for doing it. His legacy of selfless service and kindness will live on through his kids, Joshlyn, Joshua, Jayson and Jordan.

Aside from humor, humility, and hard work, the most important lesson he taught in his final years was that you are never too old to learn to hug, or say how you feel to the ones you love. He loved being a Grandpa and took every opportunity to spoil his grandchildren, often against the wishes of their parents. Remember children, it's not a monster under the bed, but Grandpa waiting to prank you.

Steve is survived by his wife Lynda; daughter, Joshlyn and husband Bradley; sons, Joshua and Marisa, Jayson and wife Josie, Jordan and wife Rachel; grandchildren, Preston, David, Roslyn, Ben, Henry, and Harper; sisters, Elaine Shumate, Nancy Cole, and Judy Brockmeyer; brothers Dan Schnitzius and Greg Schnitzius.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Helen Schnitzius.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 27, 2020, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas.
