Stephen William Roberts, passed away on September 11, 2026, in Frisco, Texas. He was born on November 28, 1942, in Pasadena, California to Robert Louis Roberts and Betty Ludi Roberts.

Steve was a graduate from Rosemead High School. He was then drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers, briefly, before he was drafted on June 19, 1968, to the United States Army. He served our country as a Sergeant in the ARMY-USAR-OMC infantry during the Vietnam War.

After returning from the war, Steve moved to Plano, Texas in 1974. He worked for a carpet cleaning rental company before following his Great Uncle Louie's passion for construction and began his life's work in custom home building. Steve Roberts Custom Builders built homes in a number of communities in North Dallas, Plano, McKinney, and Frisco, His Perfection with Integrity in the industry awarded him 9 D Magazine Builder of the Year Awards. Steve was an active member of the Dallas Builders Association from 2011 to 2019. He built homes and relationships with his homeowners for over 40 years in DFW metroplex. Steve was an avid supporter of Frisco Safety Town, Toys for Tots, Celina Education Foundation, and the Celina Police and Firemen's Benevolence Fund.

Steve is survived by his wife of 23 years, Leigh Glendenning Roberts of Celina, Texas; his daughter Shannon Stacy and her husband, Michael of Frisco, Texas; his grandchildren, Jake Stacy and his wife, Ari, Reid Stacy, and Sam Stacy. His daughter Tara Hermundson and her husband, Josh of Frisco, Texas, grandchildren Bella Hermundson, River Hermundson, Brody Brunner and his wife, Miranda and their two daughters Logan and Riley. His brothers, Michael Roberts and his wife, Valerie of Duarte, California, Craig Roberts and his wife, Susan of San Bernadino,. California, Lynn Reynolds of San Ramon, California, Jean Cherry of McKinney, Texas, Janice Pi and her husband, Jorge of Allen, Texas; and numerous nieces, and nephews.

Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, Betty and Robert Louis Roberts.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Stonebriar Community Church, 4801 Legendary Drive (Parkwood Entrance), Frisco, Texas 75034, at 1:00 PM. A funeral service will follow beginning at 2:00 PM. Interment will be held at Old Celina Cemetery, 12041 West Glendenning Parkway, Celina, Texas 75009.
