Stephen (Steve) Thomas Simko, dedicated husband, dad, papa and friend, from Frisco Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 3, 2022.
Steve was born on July 6, 1945, to Charles and Lillian Simko in Cleveland, Ohio. He graduated from Kenston High School in 1963 and went on to serve in the United States Air Force, stationed in San Antonio, TX. While in the Air Force, Steve learned the field of Orthotics and in 1975 he started, Canton Orthotic Laboratory in Canton, Ohio. His successful business grew into two locations, and he loved serving and treating patients until his retirement in 2010.
Steve married Ann Simko on January 25, 1969, and they had two daughters, Katie and Kristen. He lived in Massillon Ohio until 2017 when he and Ann moved to Frisco, TX to be closer to his children and grandchildren.
Throughout his life, Steve loved to volunteer at his church as an elder, mentoring young men as a leader of the Christian Service Brigade and ministering at the local jail. He also enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling, golfing and being the best papa to his six grandchildren. His greatest joy was sharing his love of his Savior, Jesus Christ with anyone who would listen.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, Charles Simko, and his mother, Lillian Simko. He is survived by his wife, Ann Simko, his daughters, Katie Ingram (Mike), and Kristen Rothacker (Ryan), his brother Chuck Simko and his grandchildren; Collin Ingram, Emily Rothacker, Lindsey Ingram, McKenna Ingram, Aidan Rothacker and Tessa Ingram.
A Funeral Service will be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 8520 E. Main Street, Frisco, Texas 75033, on Friday, December 9, 2022, beginning at 2:00 PM with a Visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Ridgeview West Memorial Park, 7800 Sanctuary Drive, Frisco, Texas 75033.
