Stephen D. Davison

Stephen D. Davison of Dallas, Texas passed away August 8, 2018, at the age of 87.  He was born January 11, 1931, to Milton Andress Davison and Lois Elizabeth Threadgill in Marlin, Texas. Stephen graduated from Baylor University where he competed on the swim team and was an active Campus Radio Personality. From 1950 to 1954, Stephen served his country proudly in the United States Navy during the Korean War. For more than three decades he worked as a mortician and funeral director for Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home, Restland Funeral and Laurel Land Funeral Homes before working as a clerk for Dallas County. Stephen was an active member of the Masonic Lodge #705 in Oak Cliff, Texas, Hella Shriner Dallas, Texas and previously Masonic Lodge #152 in Marlin, Texas. He loved his Christian Faith, his family and friends, music, his many dogs and was active in dog training and shows in the 1980’s. A lover of classic movies, he especially enjoyed the films of John Wayne, Steve McQueen and Clint Eastwood. Blessed with a gregarious personality and keen sense of humor he thoroughly enjoyed a good laugh. Stephen was often referred to as quite a character and if you met him once you never forgot him. He was always up for sharing a drink, good conversation or watching football games with a friend or family member. Stephen was known as a kind and wonderful man to everyone he met.

He is survived by son, Brooks Davison and wife Rosie of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Thomas Murphy Davison, Stephanie Rose Davison and Jonathan William Davison; first wife and mother of his children, Sally Murphy Davison; and many more beloved relatives. 

Stephen was preceded in death by his son, William Milton Davison, wife Elsie Faye Davison, parents Milton Andress Davison, Lois Elizabeth Davison and brothers, Richard Read Davison and Milton Arthur Davison. 

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday, August 17, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org/donate.
