Stephen Andrew Gasser passed away on March 23, 2023 in Plano, Texas at the age of 80. He was born to Walter and Lorraine (Anderson) Gasser on October 24, 1942 in Alameda, California.
Stephen grew up in California and met his wife Judith at Verdant Vales Camp in Middleton, California. Together they were married for 56 years. They started their family with the birth of their son Michael in 1967 and a few years later they welcomed their daughter Deborah to the world. As a family they moved all over the U.S., eventually settling in Plano, Texas in 1979. As a member of the Christian Science Church, Stephen volunteered and always enjoyed helping where he could. Stephen was always active. He enjoyed playing and working outside. He rode bikes and in later years he got a trike so he could keep active. Around the house, Stephen enjoyed “puttering around” the backyard and feeding his beloved birds, while trying to keep the acorns out of the pool. He was a very supportive father and grandfather. His kids and grandkids remember him cheering them on at their different events and games. His grandkids remember the dogs he cared for over the years. Sunday brunch was Stephen’s specialty with eggs, pancakes, and whatever else sounded good; even taking care of the dishes, which no one else could touch.
Stephen is survived by his wife, Judith Grover Gasser of Plano, Texas; son, Michael David Gasser of Fairview, Texas; daughter, Deborah Gasser Janssen and husband, Tony of Fairview, Texas; grandson, Andrew James Janssen; grandson, Bryan Christopher Janssen; granddaughter, Jasmine Aurora Gasser; sister, Ruth Alice Gasser of Oakland, California; and brother, Timothy A. Gasser and wife, Anne of Palo Alto, California.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Water and Lorraine Gasser, and sister, Mary Ann Gasser.
