Stella Swiri Wangia of Austin, Texas passed away on July 5, 2021 at the age of 51. She was born on September 15, 1970 to Anna Ateh and Lucas Che Wangia in Mankon, Bamenda, Cameroon.
She was fondly called many nick names including Stelly, Stars, Maangye (mother of twins) and Tongkeu.
Stelly completed her primary education in Government School, Atuakom in 1976.
Her secondary education was done in Presbyterian Secondary School (PSS) Batibo and later in Providence Commercial College (PCC) Mankon, Bamenda.
Stelly lived in the United States from the early 2000s until her demise in July 2021.
She worked as a Data Entry Specialist in Dallas, Texas before pursuing further training in Data Processing. She then worked briefly in Phoenix and in North Dakota before falling ill.
During her illness, she took up painting which she found therapeutic and discovered she was a naturally endowed landscape artist. Her paintings speak for themselves. She signed her works “SSW” or “Star W” and loved sending them out to family and friends.
Maangye enjoyed travelling, cooking and meeting new people.
She leaves behind her twin boys, Bryan and Fru; her siblings, Anye Wangia, Elizabeth Wangia, Richard Wangia, Pamela Wangia Njikam, Reverend Charles Wangia, Scholastica Wangia Monikang and a slew of other family members and friends to mourn her loss.
She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Mama Anna Ateh Wangia and Papa Lucas Che Wangia; and her beloved sister, Rose Zee Wangia.
In total humility, we bow to God’s will and pray for the repose of our mother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend – Stella Swiri Wangia.
Maangye, you will be sorely missed.
