Stanley Foote Kislus

Stanley Foote Kislus of Plano, Texas passed away on August 16, 2018, at the age of 75.  He was born on November 4, 1942 to Stanley Kislus and Tennessee Foote in New York City, New York.  He served his country in the Vietnam War as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division, Special Forces, Green Beret. Stanley started in the food industry with Johnson Pie Company, worked as a Tech-Service Manager for Pillsbury Company, and retired from a long career in the food industry at Schlotzsky- International.  He was recently honored by the American Society of Baking for 50 years of service.  Stanley was an avid reader; traveler and historian who loved to shoot guns on the gun range. He also loved to fish and to cheer on the New York Yankees.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Contessa-Kislus of Plano, Texas; daughter, Michelle Kislus-Chavez and husband Paul of Fort Worth, Texas; son, Stephen Kislus of Eddington, Maine; and grandchild, Ryan Kislus-Chavez of Fort Worth, Texas.

Stanley was preceded in death by parents, Stanley and Tennessee Kislus.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas.  The family will receive friends during a visitation one hour prior to the service beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Memorials may be made in Stanley’s honor to the North Texas Food Bank or Resurrection Lutheran Church-Stephen Ministry.
