Battalion Chief Stan C. Gleghorn, a retiree of the Dallas Fire Department passed away July 21, 2021 at the age of 91. He was born on September 11, 1929 to Stanfield Corbin Gleghorn and Mary Gladys (Coleman) Gleghorn in Josephine, Texas. Stan served his country proudly in the United States Army. He married Peggy Sue Taylor on October 10, 1964 in Dallas, Texas. Stan worked for the Dallas Fire Department from May 1, 1956 until his retirement in 1988. He was a devoted member of Stonebriar Community Church in Frisco, Texas. Stan was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend. He will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved him.
Stan is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Peggy Sue Gleghorn of Plano, Texas; sons, Roger Gleghorn and wife, Connie of Allen, Texas and Jay Gleghorn of Anna, Texas; sister, Morna Duvall of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; and a host of other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter-in-law, Debra Nash Gleghorn.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 26, 2021 at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
The family will receive friends during a visitation Sunday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
