Stacy Lynn Roper, 59, passed away surrounded by loved ones on September 9, 2026, in Plano, Texas. He was born in McKinney, Texas, on October 13, 1966, to his loving parents, Weldon Leon Roper and Sandra Carole (Reed) Roper.
Stacy was a shining example of sacrificial love. He went above and beyond to care for the people around him, always putting others before himself. As a single father, he changed his career so he could work from home and be there to raise his son. Later in life, he devoted himself to caring for his father, once again putting the needs of someone he loved before his own.
Stacy also stepped up for his nephew, giving him the love and support he knew his brother would have wanted for his son. He carried a deep desire to make his mother proud and approached each day as a new opportunity to be the kind of loving person she would want him to be.
He poured his heart into everyone he met and everything he did. His life was defined by love, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to the people who mattered most to him. The world is a better place because of the joy and love Stacy shared, and his spirit will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone whose life he touched.
Stacy is survived by his son, Alex Roper of Dallas, Texas; nephew, Sterlynn Roper and his wife, Lindsey, and great-nephew, Romann, all of Anna, Texas; father, Weldon Roper, also of Anna, Texas; and a host of family members and friends who will miss him dearly and fondly cherish his memory.
Stacy was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Roper, and brother, Steve Roper.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. Following the funeral, a procession will make its way to Stoney Point Cemetery, 8241 Co Rd 1095, Anna, Texas 75409, for a committal service.
The family will receive guests during a visitation from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 14, 2026, at the funeral home.
