Sophie (Iwko) Kuehn, age 82, of Mississauga, Ontario, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 25, 2022, with her daughter by her side in Frisco, Texas. She was born June 6, 1940, in Poland to Stephania Macegoniuk and Jan Iwko. Sophie married the love of her life, Reinhold Kuehn, on September 11, 1965, in Toronto, Canada, and they were blessed with a daughter. She worked as a Quality Control Inspector until her retirement. Sophie was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend to many.
She will be lovingly remembered for her giving heart. She endeavored to make life better for family and friends and was a cornerstone for them. Sophie came to Canada as a very young woman and learned the culture and language and made a new life for herself. She worked hard, loved to garden, and shop. She was also a fantastic cook.
Sophie was also an incredibily brave, strong and supportive mother, who guided her daughter through multiple battles with cancer. Her devotion, encouragement and care will never be forgotten. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
Sophie is survived by her daughter, Susan Kuehn. She also leaves behind six sisters (all in Poland) and numerous nieces and nephews (Canada, Poland, Germany and Switzerland).
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Reinhold Kuehn, her parents, Stefania and Jan, her sister, Donna, and her nephew, Leszek.
A memorial service will be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow, 8520 Main Street, Frisco, Texas, on Friday December 2, 2022, at 2:00 p.m.
